On February 16th, Northwest CT Chamber Education Foundation and LARC announced plans to collaborate on a public art project, Bearlieve It Or Not.
Bearlieve It Or Not will support Litchfield County and promote tourism, enhance the visibility of local artists, build a sense of community throughout the region and beautify the business districts and towns.
LARC and the NW CT Chamber Education Foundation will invite artists to paint fiberglass Bear forms of various sizes. Businesses and individuals throughout Litchfield County will have the opportunity to ‘adopt’ a Bear. The completed painted Bears will be on display throughout the county during the months of August through October of 2010. Ultimately, the Bears will be auctioned off to support the ongoing regional efforts of the two collaborating organization in November 2010.
For more information on sponsorship opportunities or to learn how you can become involved in this project, please call JoAnn Ryan at the NW CT Chamber of Commerce at 860.482.6586 or Larry Cassella at LARC at 860. 482.9364.
